Israeli salad is a popular salad from
Israel
where it is known as
as "Salat Aravi".
It is made from finely diced tomatoes and cucumbers
and is very easy to make.
Here are the ingredients for making Israeli salad:
- Tomatoes (3 medium-sized)
- Cucumber (2)
- Onion (1 small)
- Optional: Green pepper (1)
- Lemon (1)
- Fresh parsley (¼ cup)
- Optional: fresh mint or fresh dill
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil
Here are the steps to prepare the salad.
- Peel the cucumbers. If using green pepper, remove the seeds.
- Finely dice the tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and if using it, green pepper.
Place the vegetables in a salad bowl.
- Chop the parsley and add it to the salad.
If you wish you may also add a small amount of fresh mint and/or dill.
- Drizzle with the juice from the lemon, and olive oil.
- Toss the ingredients together.
- Season with salt and pepper.
