Vegan Cookbooks and Recipes
Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that tries to avoid using animals products of any kind
for food, clothing or other purposes. Vegan dishes do not use any kind of meat, fish, animal milk
products, eggs, or honey (in contrast, various vegetarian diets often allow certain animal
products such as those eggs, milk-derived products, or honey, depending on the particular vegetarian diet
in question).
Here are some vegan recipes
- Bathenjan makli - This is a Lebanese dish
(many similar dishes are found in Middle Eastern cuisine)
made from fried eggplant with
tahini sauce, lettuce, parsley and tomatoes. Sumac, bell peppers,
or garlic and lemon are also sometimes added. It is often served on top of pita bread or sliced bread.

- Dhokla - This Indian dish is originally from Gujarat in the West of India.
It is a spicy-savory cake made from chickpea paste, and served with green chutney or peanut oil.
- Dosa - This is a Indian recipe from
the South of the country. It is a large thin pancake
made from rice and lentils, and usually eaten with chutney, pickles, or sambar
(a vegetable stew flavored with tamarind).
- Falafel - This is a Middle Eastern dish found in a number
of cuisines in the region. Falafel are fried balls or patties made from chickpeas or fava beans.
- Lima bean salad - This is a Peruvian dish
made from boiled butter beans with onions, tomatoes and green chilies,
