Squid
Squid are marine cephalopods (a class of molluscs) with eight arms and two
tentacles. They fished all over the world, and are sometimes known as
"calamari" (which is originally an
Italian
and
Spanish
word). Squid can be prepared many ways, including cutting the body into rings,
or stuffing it, and virtually the entire squid (except its beak and pen)
are edible, as is squid ink.
Squid is eaten in many cuisines around the world including, for example,
Chinese cuisine,
Cypriot cuisine,
Greek cuisine,
Japanese cuisine,
Korean cuisine,
Italian cuisine, and
Spanish cuisine.

They are then packed in their own ink, which adds a rich full flavor. 'Los Peperetes' is regarded as the finest of artisan canneries in Galicia. They use only fresh, hand harvested seafood that is delivered nightly to their tiny factory overlooking waters of the Rias Baixas. Each batch is carefully prepared and masterfully preserved.
